Today is the Day!

That's right...we are on our way.  We are in Atlanta waiting for our flight to Paris and then on to Sofia.  I am beyond excited.  The wait has been almost unbearable at times.  I know that God's timing is always perfect and I have tried to put my faith in that knowledge (but I am not very good at waiting sometimes)!
:)    We will have our first visit on Monday...not sure yet if it will be Avery or Caden that we will see first.  I just want to say thank you to everyone who has prayed and supported us during this special time.  We truly couldn't have made it to this point without your prayers and support.  We look forward to sharing this journey with you all so check back often over the next couple of weeks to see updates, pictures, and hopefully some video.

Always Blessed,
Wendy

Sorry It Has Been So Long

I feel terrible that I have not updated my blog.  So many of you have emailed me to find out what is happening in our adoption process....I appreciate everyone's concern and prayers.  We are in a difficult stage right now......the waiting stage.  We know that our paperwork has been submitted and we were hoping that we would receive a written referral last week, but that has not yet happened.  We are still waiting for that one last piece so that we can be given a travel date.  I know that this is all in God's timing.  We have felt so discouraged at times but we just continue to pray for patience and emotional strength as we continue the waiting game.

Jeff and I focused our time over the last month on helping a missionary in our church with a fundraiser called an "Evening of  Elegance."  This was an event to raise money for a deaf school in Mexico.  We felt so blessed to be part of this and to connect with so many wonderful people.  Tom and Debbie are the missionaries who started the school and we have been so blessed by their testimony and friendship.  This was a great distraction for us during this difficult time of waiting to go visit our babies.  It is amazing the attachment we have and the love we feel for these little children that we haven't even met yet.  We are so thankful that God has given us such a blessed opportunity to be the family for these precious children.

Dossier en Route

After months of paper chasing and playing the waiting game, our dossier is finally en route and should be in country in the next couple of days.  We are so glad to have made it to this point....and now we wait again.  Waiting for a travel date to visit our children is going to be difficult.  I guess my patience is wearing a little thin!!   :)  We are just so excited and feel so blessed to have come this far.  It is amazing how confident we are in following God's will for our lives.  We have had so much support and have made so many dear friends through this process.   Praying for a quick travel date!!

I will keep you posted........

Happy New Year

I know I am not doing very good with my blogging. We have been so busy with kids, and adoption paperwork, and sports, and adoption paperwork, and our jobs, and adoption paperwork, and the holidays....and did I mention all the paperwork...that I have neglected my blog. So many people email us and call us wanting to know how things are going so I feel very guilty that I haven't posted an update so here we go...

Dossier is complete. The I-800A approval came just before Christmas so that was our special gift! That, along with a couple other documents, have been sent for apostille so when those are returned, we will send them to Bulgaria. The rest of our dossier is traveling tomorrow with a family who will be making their first trip to Bulgaria to visit their son.

Once our paperwork is in Bulgaria, we start waiting again. Please pray with us that the wait will be short.
